My Story
In 2022 I received a diagnosis of Stage 3 Breast Cancer. Life changed irrevocably and I began a very steep learning curve.
A Journey Through Breast Cancer was written during the period covering the first 12 months from preliminary diagnosis through treatment. This special To the Point edition shares experiences and insights combined with psychological theories plus practical tips and ideas. The overarching aim is about leaning into the resilient self during a challenging time. While the narrative is built around the breast cancer journey, as with key concepts described in all of the To the Point books, ideas may be relevant and might be usefully applied across other difficult situations.
During 2022/2023 chemotherapy, surgeries and radiotherapy took place and it was during this time that my consultant advised me of adjuvant treatments including a two year programme of daily drugs containing the active ingredient, abemaciclib. This element of treatment has also been quite a journey and so the e-book, Abemaciclib Insights from a Patient, provides additional tips and ideas to support breast cancer awareness.
